First, the symptoms

At 12:00 on April 23rd, 2006, 50 head of the 50-year-old breeding farm, Xu, produced a cow with black-and-white flowers producing cow calves, which occurred at 16:00 on April 24th. Cows lie in the ground and do not want to stand, do not eat. After clinical examination, the onset of cattle body temperature is normal, not ruminating, excited, sensitive to stimuli, head and limb tremor, difficulty standing. Soon, the sick man was lying on his back, his limbs bent under the belly, his head bent back to the side of the chest, artificial straightening, reopened and restitution; nose dry, slow response to stimuli, mental depression, deep breathing and slow.

Second, diagnosis and treatment

Based on the above symptoms, it is determined that the disease is a dairy cow. Immediately, 5% glucose 1000 ml, 10% calcium gluconate 300 ml, and 25% magnesium sulfate 80 ml were mixed by slow intravenous injection. After 4 hours, the diseased animals only drank clear water and still did not eat. When they tried to stand, their hindquarters were weak. On the second day, intravenous infusion was performed once again using the above formula. Soon, the owner called and said that the cow had stood on his own and had to eat forage.

Third, daily care

According to the proposal, the livestock owners practice daily sun exposure in order to facilitate the synthesis of vitamin D3 and to promote the absorption of calcium in feeds; properly tie down to increase the movement of cows; control the amount of concentrate feed and increase the amount of roughage (high quality hay, alfalfa) Feeding quantity; At the same time, strict control of milking quantity is required for the first few days.

Through the above treatment and care, the diseased cattle will resume normal walking and eating soon and enter normal production.
