According to statistics, a total of 3.88 billion shrimp seedlings were cultivated at 642 seedlings farms in the province from January to April, which was a year-on-year increase of 5%. The healthy shrimps of Penaeus vannamei which were bred by the Provincial Fisheries Research Institute are highly sought after. From January to April this year, the institute has sold 4.5 million nauplii shrimps and 130 million tailed shrimps, providing high quality seedlings for green and healthy aquaculture. The owner of the Ledong farming household Yanzhou recently purchased 1.7 million high-quality shrimp seedlings from the Institute. According to him, in the breeding process, almost no disease occurred. In the growing process, the original superiority of fast growth rate, high survival rate, uniformity of individuals, strong resistance and high yield is generally exhibited. The development of the seed and seedling industry has created conditions for adjusting and optimizing the structure of aquaculture. Since the second half of last year, the shrimp aquaculture area in our province has increased by 934 hectares and the low-level shrimp pond has been rebuilt a second time.
