Lubricants in the gearbox and rear axle shall be replaced with No. 11 diesel engine oil or with No. 20 gear oil. Fourth, start off before starting the engine to fully warm up the body, repeatedly adding and releasing hot water below 90 degrees, until the release of the water temperature reaches 30 degrees, then add more than 90 degrees of hot water before they can start. In the case of locomotives using batteries, the specific gravity of the electrolyte should be increased to 1.3-1.4, and should be charged after discharging 25% to prevent the electrolyte from freezing or decreasing in specific gravity.
