Recently, Jake Evill, a graduate of Wellington University in Victoria, New Zealand, presented his latest conceptual design project “Cortical Exoskeletonâ€, a wound area fixation technique using 3D printing technology to replace traditional plaster. It is reported that this exoskeleton is airy, ultra-light, stylish and recyclable design, and uses 3D printing technology.
It is reported that when using this technique to make 3D exoskeleton, X-ray and three-dimensional scanning will be used to diagnose fracture patients. X-rays are used to understand the condition and determine the location of bone fracture. Three-dimensional scanning is used to determine the size of the limb. After the data is obtained, it will be input to the computer to generate a suitable exoskeleton 3D model at the fracture and printed directly on the affected area. The cortical exoskeleton is very thin, but it is very durable, and the user can wear long sleeves as before. Trousers and can take a shower.
