Imported genetic oil does not pollute the national repository

On October 29th, the media exposed news of the importation of genetically modified rapeseed oil into the national reserve. The Ministry of Land and Resources released a report saying that 1,477 tons of imported rapeseed oil had been found in the national reserve. The move triggered public concern about the contamination of the State Reserve with GM rapeseed oil. In response to this, China National Grain Reserves issued a statement reaffirming that it is guaranteed that China's temporary storage of rapeseed oil is entirely non-genetically modified domestically produced oil.

China National Grain Storage Corporation announced that the investigation found that Hubei, Hunan, and Sichuan provinces have found three issues in total, involving 16 companies. Among them, violation of the acquisition policy, the import of rapeseed into the company's two temporary storage stocks, found a total of 1477 tons of imported rapeseed oil mixed into temporary storage stocks.

As soon as the news came out, the question of "imported genetically modified rapeseed oil contaminated the country's stock of rapeseed oil reserves" was of great concern to the community. Yesterday, the China Grain Reserves re-issued a statement that there was no "pollution" problem. For the mixed problem that has emerged, take the whole tank and exit the temporary storage stock to ensure that the state reserve rapeseed oil is all domestic non-transgenic rapeseed oil.

China Grain Storage explained that due to its own processing capacity of rapeseed oil, the temporary purchase of oil reserves has entrusted local grain and oil processing companies with the method of entrusting acquisition and processing. China National Grain Reserves Corporation, as the regulatory body for the purchase of Linyou canola oil, will continue to receive supervision and inspection from the relevant national regulatory authorities, and cooperate with related departments to severely investigate and punish behaviors that violate the temporary reserve acquisition policy and damage the national interest.
